1. BRUSHING CORRECTLY

Brushing and oral maintenance are indispensable for dental health and we all know it. Though; for the mouths that are not maintained properly and the teeth of which are not brushed properly; dental maintenance is out of the question. This is why a proper habit of brushing teeth is a requirement.

2. PROPER NUTRITION

We are well aware that candy bars and sugary snacks are not good for our teeth. Though; are we aware of the foods that actually protect out dental health? CHEESE works well against the micro-organisms that compromise our dental and oral health; with its casein content. PEANUTS support the saliva structure as they are rich in phosphate. GREEN TEA and GARDEN SAGE positively affect the saliva structure as well as gum health.

Biting into flowers; apples or kiwis are really beneficial for the health of teeth and gums.

3. BACKING UP WITH PROTECTIVE DENTISTRY

When they are first formed; our teeth have deep runnel structures. The ages between 7 and 12 are those when the sugary snacks are frequently consumed by children that cannot maintain their mouths properly. This is also the period when most of the the newly formed molar teeth start to decay. This is why closing the dental ruffles and fluorine application are highly beneficial.

4. REFRAINING FROM BREAKING HARD SUBSTANCES WITH TEETH

Nuts with shells; especially when consumed with the incisor teeth; cause abrasion and cracks at the tips of teeth. This is why we should be cautious when using our incisors and refrain from breaking hard-shelled nuts with our incisor teeth.

5. USING MOUTH GUARDS

We clench our teeth involuntarily during sleep. This clenching causes abrasion on the chewing surfaces on our teeth. Today; grinding teeth is encountered as an unwanted habit; in people below 18 years of age.

This is why we should use mouth guards to avoid an unnecessary pressure between our teeth during sleep.

6. AVOIDING ACIDIC FOODS AND USING SPECIAL TOOTHPASTE AGAINST ACID CORROSION

Acid affects the tooth enamel negatively. Especially on the surfaces where teeth are facing gums; as the enamel lining is quite thin; acid corrosion is inevitable. This is why we need to avoid acidic foods and beverages. For when the acidic foods or beverages are not avoided at all (like; when salads and fruits are consumed quite frequently); toothpaste is another option to combat acid corrosion.

7. ENDING STOMACH PROBLEMS SUCH AS ACID REFLUX
As a consequence of late night snacking and alcohol over-consumption; stomach acid leaks upwards into your mouth; creating an issue like the acid reflux. In the event of an acid reflux being caused by the stomach; the acid leaks into the mouth and causes tooth abrasions and breakages. This is why; in case you have a problem of acid reflux; getting it treated; as well as taking other measures such as using high pillows is the course you should follow.

8. TREATING CROOKED TEETH

Dental crookedness may be fixed any time via orthodontic therapy. If the crookedness remains untouched; encountering tartar and decays will be inevitable.

Dentist check-ups; especially for children aged 7-12; helps assess dental crookedness earlier. For those that occur at an older age; such a crookedness may of course be fixed through orthodontic therapy.

9. DENTAL CLOSURE CHECKS

Your teeth close together just like cogs in a machine. In such a closure; if a tooth is longer than the others allow it to dig more into and permanently damage the corresponding tooth over time. This is why the closure of teeth should be checked and such problems of over-contact should be countered.
10. COMBATTING A DRY MOUTH

Many decays and tartar build-ups are caused by a dry mouth. Dryness of a mouth is caused by many factors. They could be summarized as the adverse effects of the medication used; systemic disorders (such as diabetes); under-hydration; nasal congestion and oral respiration. This is why we need to avoid the factors that cause oral dryness; as well as use gels that end mouth dryness and support the saliva structure.
